PLANE FAIL

I am thinking to submit these photos to that failblog.org site. I got them through "connections." Since it's illegal for anyone who is legally allowed to get this close to this "official US government plane" to have a camera with them, the photographer remains "anonymous." It's amazing how far cell phone camera technology has come along!

...'plane fail' indeed...those are awesome fotos but they still don't give you a sense of just how big those damn things are...

May this be a lesson to you young lady, Peanut, not to be racing Jets on the runway. The pilots see they are getting behind and forget all about take off. Fruit and oatmeal goes great for breakfast.

I agree BGW! When i rode by it, the scene looked comical. The plane stuck out high over the trees nearby. Since there were no fatalities, there were no bodies inside for proportion comparison.
hey rickie:
Why don't you put your piano music on your blog? I know that blogspot lets you do that. I'm sure i'm not the only one who wants to hear it. By the way, I too start every morning off with a bowl of whole grains like oats and an apple and banana. yum! i am now adding fresh cherries and strawberries from the backyard.

I will give that try. I will have to study on how to do that. cool idea.

I can't put my finger on it, but something is definitely not right with this plane.

ErikV: HA! WAIT TILL YOU SEE MY NEXT POST!

Hey Peanut,
I made a movie with my second piano composition, Bible School Crush, as the background to my photos. One is Andromeda Galaxy, Orion Nebula, and some other assorted pictures of things I thought were nice. I'm really hungry and don't know what to eat. I am sure I will figure that out. I love this particular piano piece. I hope you like it.

Grr , makes you wonder what is on board of that plane. Damn ricains and their secrecy.. what have they been using our airport for this time.

Big Bad Wolf said...

oh. and the pics weren't taken with a cell phone, they were taken with a Sony Cybershot .
But you are right, my Sony Ericcson has 5 megapixels and the quality is very good considering the small lens.

No, that's not right at all.

Hey PNut, quick question for your advice column:

My three year-old daughter just got a snazzy Trek (resplendent with daisies and dragonflies) with training wheels. However, she ran into a tree next to our driveway, and now is hesitant on the bike. I know you have a lot of experience running into trees and such things. How do I get her to not be afraid to run into stationary objects?

So has BBW just given away the source of the photos???

Christine, not wishing to be facicious (sp?), your comment about grains with fruit for breakfast, got me too thinking, I have honey and fruit on my porridge in the morning. Is honey allowed for a true Vegan???

Big Bad Wolf said...

BBW has other things to do than to take pictures of silly US planes. :)
And my pics say Sony-Ericsson K850i in the EXIF files, NOT Sony Cybershot.. try to pay attention, I just explained that.

Nope... you lost me. Far too technical! ;)

What a coincidence that i happen to own a sony cybershot...
BBW: Did you know that a ricain is short for a puerto rican when you say it aloud? I have a feeling you meant to say americans!! hehehe. But then again, it sort of means the same thing nowadays.
chr: Honey is not vegan, nor is silk, leather, gelatin (no standard marshmallows, jello or gummy bears) or some versions of sugar, wine, etc. And while we're on the subject, there is no such thing as a pescavegetarian or a "i only eat meat on thanksgiving"-vegetarian.

Gc: tough question. I actually wrote a chapter on being a coach to your kid for a book "discovery channel team's guide to teaching kids to ride" but unfortunately i didn't go into detail on that subject of just starting to pedal a bike. The only advice i can think of is to be supportive and remind her that it does get easier. It's just a physical skill to be learned. The more you can remove the emotion (YOUR emotion, that is, of making more of it than it is - it is just riding a bike) the easier it is for a kid to think nothing of it and get back on. There is no guarantee that she'll never hit a tree again, but the chances are surely high she won't hit that specific one again for the rest of her cycling years!
The advice i give myself when i'm doing something technical on the bike is to "look where i want to go." On the flipside, this means that if i don't want to hit the tree i better not look at it! Hope this helps.

I've been telling her to drive into the corners, applying pressure to her inside drop while leaning into the curve. But her basket keeps getting in the way!!! However, the tassels look magnificent flowing in the breeze as she barrels around at 2 mph! The monkey helmet adds a nice touch as well. I need to take a pic and put on my blog.

She says she wants to be faster than daddy. I keep telling her to aim higher, as that is not a challenge that is hard to best. Also, we tell her that daddy runs into stuff all the time and falls down. Unfortunately very true. Triathlete + cross race = catastrophe.

Thanks for the input! Did you ever see the book "Gracie Goat's Big Bike Race?" Very cute.

As I thought, I knew about leather and gelatin but silk never crossed my mind. It must be a real minefield?
As for the comment on pescavegetarians... I always thought that excuse was a bit suspect.

Thanks :)

chr: There are a bunch of other XYZ-vegetarian categories that people have come up with. Some are very creative. Wish i could remember them now.
gcdavid: Regarding your comment "I've been telling her to drive into the corners, applying pressure to her inside drop while leaning into the curve", i assume you're joking. That's too funny! I always thought that kids usually figure out what's best for them naturally. It's the adults that need specific instruction because they've lost their ability to be natural about stuff like riding a bike. I'm the perfect example of that. I learned to ride as an adult. Luckily i have a coach who has worked incredibly hard to make me look "normal" on a bike.

GCDavid said...

Yes, very much joking. At three years old, she stopped listening to me long ago anyway. Right around the time she started rolling her eyes. Must be a XX chromosome thing, pre-programmed. Do women in Belgium roll their eyes in an annoyed way as well? I think it is a true universal.

Christine, I onw a Sony Cybershot as well.. but I haven't been in the Kortenberg area for years.. too flat.

You lost me with the vegan stuff, too technical :)

And you are right, I meant Americans - we own the world and it is our playground to spoil - .. in general.

PEANUT said...

Well if we didn't have boys to inspire us to master the eye-roll...yes, surely it's universal.

BBW: But kortenberg has a great bakery right on the steenweg. Funny that you describe belgians that way. I personally have never thought of them as "we own the world and it is our playground to spoil".

Big Bad Wolf said...

lol, I was talking about Americans actually.. but it was a generalization of course. But that is the way your foreign politics is perceived here.
