Tomorrow is the BIG DAY

Jonas and I take off for San Francisco for a couple of weeks. Well, not exactly san fran but Sausalito which, as a bike racer, I wholeheartedly prefer. But with such a busy schedule lately with my therapy, writing, packing, I havent even sat down to think about the trip at all. So instead of being over the moon with thoughts of my favorite burrito at Punjabi in Mill Valley or my best loops around Marin County like the infamous Alpine loop or any of the ones that pass Bovine Bakery (contrary to its name they actually have an assortment of vegan pastries and bites), I am sitting here wondering if the trip is really going to happen. If within a few hours from now, my nice "routine" of sorts that i have here in Belgium is really going to turn on its head. As a creature of habit, a lover of routine, I really chose the wrong path in life. Bike racing and routine are not quite synonymous. Maybe that's why we hold on to routine as much as we can with our daily rituals regarding the bike.

Anyway, here I go.

Ah, your post reminded me of Punjabi. I had lived in the Bay Area for years before a friend took me there. MMMMM, yummy. Ah, the memories... at least here in San Diego there are some excellent Indian places so I don't feel too bad.

Hey Christine - I am acutally coming over to BE next week to hang with the Ridley folks, watch a couple bike races and see some other freinds. Your trip to CA should be fun! Even though I now live in Reno I get back over to the city often enough to hit Tam/Marin. And although Reno does have some good riding, Marin is tough to beat! Have Fun. Mike

Jonas's personage in photos suggests he is one of extremely dry, wry humor.

The square root of dream squared equals, "Dream." I knew you would a appreciate a good math lesson. While your here in the Good Ol USA, take your shoes off, stay a while. Ya'll come back now, ya here?

Thanks again for the first rate lemon sparkling water and Judy's breadsticks this afternoon. Shame about the specs.

Also, I was kind of amazed that Jonas does walk around normally with that pillow thing on his head. I had been thinking that it was just a gag for the camera.

Hi EC
I think jonas is about ready to release the blow-up headrest as it has lost too much air and now looks like a poorly-laid baret.
Glad you enjoyed the breadsticks.
We broke another pair on the flight back home. Bugger. I think there is a replacement in a closet somewhere though.
