Just in case you wanted to know...

Toilet water is not for drinking, according to the sign above the German toilet which reads, "not drinkwater" (translated literally.)

And not all flowers are easily digested.

On another note, Niels Albert was quoted today as saying that road racing is easy. They dont have to deal with mud or dirt. With nicely pumped up tired and good condition, anyone can make it to paris in the tour de france. But you cant win it without good products.

I'd say those are fighting words. haha.

He went on to say that most of the cyclocross peloton is clean. That you dont need drugs to ride only one hour at your maximum.

As for me, the flu is finally gone. Only a couple of remnants remain - slight cough and stuffy/runny nose.

This weekend is Gavere Superprestige and i have never been more excited to race this season than i am for this event. I don't really have an explanation for it, other than I am simply feeling ready to suffer to the fullest of my ability. I look forward to the burn in my lungs and the throbbing of my legs. My goal Sunday is to ride so hard that I pass out just after I cross the finish line.

Jonas just set up my stationary trainer with a super duper mackdaddy trainer gizmo that measures watts, cadence, heart rate, speed and a bunch of other stuff. It has definitely added a bit of entertainment to my indoor riding. I havent figured out yet how to work the "average" and "max" buttons yet which is proving to be a real challenge, especially when i try to record numbers in the middle of hard efforts.

Here I am, nearly knocking off time, and on the web...

Your first two paragraphs remind me of a post I did on my 'other' blog a while back.

1) never drink red wine from a tumbler, and

2) don't rely on your cat to wake you up!

Yup... I was late to work after a heavy night.

"I am ready to suffer to the fullest of my ability" - jeez, forget young Neils, that is fighting talk right there! You have a great attitude going into this Christine, I hope you are rewarded with and awesome result!

Maybe one of the tur teams should snap him up if it is that 'easy'.

I think passing out is a bit overkill, just puking a little should do it!

What trainer do you have? I ride a Tacx and it has those features too. I'd love to know what avg watts you are putting out at different levels, just to see if I can come anywhere close.

Oh yeah... Have a great race :)

I told you that kid has big brass ones. I'm starting to like him more and more.

Have a good time killing yourself this weekend. BTW: Were those flowers from Jonas? They better be.

I think i am with you on this one rickie. I never liked the taste of vomit.
Yeah, niels is a funny one. He will be an interesting interview (he's on the docket for cxmagazine.com).
The flowers are for my podium in germany. I cant actually remember if jonas ever gave me flowers. probably not. He knows i prefer edibles.

You got Top Ten!!! Wahoo!!

Remember what you told me before: there is 1st, 2nd, and 3rd is everyone else in the top 10. So, congrats on your podium!

I watched the men's feed on TV4 from Belgium. Looked crazy treacherous.

Might I inquire why you don't get a flu injection? Looks to me like an easy way to avoid 90% of the flu risk?

PEANUT said...

hey bbw
I did get the flu shot back in October. i guess i caught the 10% chance.

Guess so.. I'm all worried myself all of a sudden .. :)

I am sure i wouldnt have caught the flu if i didnt lower my immune system all at once by racing, quickly increasing my training intensity, traveling extensively and not taking enough rest or even sleep. My bad.
